Macular Hole

This visually disturbing disorder occurs when the vitreous gel, which fills the space between the lens and the retina, tugs at the center of the macula, creating a hole. It may also result from an injury to the eye.

How is macular hole treated?

Vitrectomy can successfully repair a macular hole and help restore the central vision. Our surgeons use the latest small gauge techniques to remove scar tissue that has pulled the retina open, helping to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
