Transgender Surgery

Mount Sinai’s Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS) is at the forefront of delivering advanced care for trans, gender non-binary, and gender non-conforming people. CTMS’s comprehensive program encompasses a variety of services, from hormone therapy and behavioral health support, to gender-affirming surgeries and other supportive services at various locations throughout the Mount Sinai Health System. New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE) works in close cooperation with the CTMS to provide gender-affirming surgeries to transgender individuals in New York City.

Pre-surgery Process 

Patents will work with case managers at CTMS to address all necessary pre-procedure care—guided by the standards set by the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH)—as well as any insurance company requirements.

Surgical Treatments

NYEE offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures for transgender and gender non-binary patients, including the following:

Trans-feminine (Male to Female) procedures include:

  • Facial Feminization
  • Breast Augmentation
  • Vaginoplasty
  • Voice Feminization

Trans-masculine (Female to Male) procedures include:

  • Chest Masculinization
  • Metoidioplasty
  • Phalloplasty
