To facilitate communications between our patients, family members and healthcare providers, NYEE offers interpreter services using a combination of over-the-phone, video remote, and in-person interpretation. Services are free and available 24 hours a day. To arrange interpreter services please speak with hospital staff, or call 212- 979-4093 for a foreign language interpreter, or 212-979-4473 for a sign language interpreter.
Services for Hearing and Visually Impaired Patients
Sign language interpreters, telecommunication devices (TTY), and other auxiliary aids for the deaf/hard of hearing are available through the Language Assistance Program. For more information please call 212-979-4093 between 9am and 5pm.
The New York State Patients' Bill of Rights, Patients’ Responsibilities and Notice of Privacy Practices (NOPP) are available in Braille. We also offer pre-admission and discharge papers in large font and/or as an audio recording, as well as additional auxiliary aids for the blind/low vision through the Language Assistance Program.
