New York Magazine's Best Doctors

Each year the doctors at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai are listed among the best in New York area by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd.

Castle Connolly, a New York City research and information company publishes an annual database, Top Doctors: New York Metro Area, which lists the top 10 percent of the region’s physicians; nearly 6,000 in all. In addition, New York Magazine publishes a shorter version of this list for the magazine’s “Best Doctors” issue, which you can view here.

Joint Commission

New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai has been accredited by The Joint Commission in 2012, 2015, and 2018.

NYEE Achieved Stage 6 Designation on the HIMSS Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model SM (EMRAM)

In May of 2017, Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Analytics recognized New York Eye and Ear Infirmary for reaching Stage 6 designation on the HIMSS Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model SM (EMRAM). HIMSS tracks and benchmarks electronic health records and health IT using the EMR Adoption ModelSM (EMRAM).

Stage 6 designation recognizes the hospital’s advancement in IT capabilities, indicating that we are almost fully paperless across our outpatient facilities for both documentation and ordering purposes. This positions the hospital among the industry leaders in leveraging technology to document, prescribe, provide robust reporting, and use and analyze data to further promote the quality and safety of patient care.

New York Eye and Ear Infirmary is a National Magnet® Hospital

On September 19, 2019 New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE) received national recognition for excellence in nursing for the third consecutive time from the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Magnet® Recognition Program®. Earning this prestigious honor is a tremendous achievement and source of pride for all of our nurses, faculty, voluntary physicians and staff. Receiving Magnet Designation validates our ongoing commitment to exemplary nursing care, transformational leadership and innovation, patient satisfaction, and clinical performance.

NYEE Receives Full ACCME Accreditation

New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai has received full accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), a nonprofit corporation responsible for accrediting US institutions that offer CME to physicians and other health care professionals. The ACCME awards a four-year accreditation period and affords the accredited provider the honor of using the ACCME emblem on its hospital website and all accredited CME materials.
