
Michael J. Pitman MD is the Director of the Division of Laryngology and the Director of The Voice and Swallowing Institute in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Pitman provides comprehensive care in all aspects of Laryngology including such disorders as laryngotracheal stenosis, vocal fold paralysis, swallowing disorders, spasmodic dysphonia, laryngopharyngeal reflux, chronic cough, vocal fold polyps, nodules and cysts and care of the professional voice.
Dr. Pitman received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. During his tenure there, Dr. Pitman was the recipient of a research grant from the American Academy of Otolaryngology.
Following his residency, Dr. Pitman completed a fellowship in Laryngology and Care of the Professional Voice at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center under the direction Dr. Robert Ossoff. Dr. Pitman has received numerous honors in his career. He has also published and presented nationally in the field of Otolaryngology.
