Edward J. Shin, MD, FACS
Edward J. Shin, MD, is an attending physician and associate professor of otolaryngology specializing in head & neck cancer, endocrine gland and sinus surgery, and otology in addition to general otolaryngology.
A graduate of University of Virginia, Dr. Shin received his MD from Stanford University School of Medicine, where he won the Stanford Medical Research Scholarship. After otolaryngology residency at UCSF Medical Center, Dr. Shin was for several years Regional Director in Otolaryngology of Queens and Elmhurst Medical Centers and recipient of several years teaching awards. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/ Head & Neck Surgery. He has published multiple papers, authored book chapters and has presented research nationally and internationally in the field of Otolaryngology.
Shai Y. Shinhar, MD
Shai Y. Shinhar, MD, attending physician at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, specializes in pediatric otolaryngology services.
Dr. Shinhar is a graduate of the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel, and completed a residency in Otolaryngology/ Head & Neck Surgery at the Sourasky Tel Aviv Medical Center. He then completed a two-year fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, and joined the faculty at Children’s Hospital and Wayne State University. He also served as director of pediatric otolaryngology at Memorial Hospital in Fremont, Ohio. Dr. Shinhar was in private practice on Long Island affiliated with Long Island Jewish Medical Center before joining the NYEE.
Dr. Shinhar has authored several publications and has been involved in teaching and research. He has extensive experience in all aspects of pediatric otolaryngology including airway abnormalities and disease. He has been recognized in the 2009 Marquise Who’s Who in America directory.
Jordan Stern , MD
Jordan Stern, MD, is founder and director of the BLUESLEEP™ comprehensive sleep apnea and snoring center. A graduate of The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary otolaryngology residency program, he is a board certified Otolaryngologist/ Head and Neck surgeon with more than 20 years experience in the management of upper airway diseases. In collaboration with specialists from New York Eye and Ear, he has assembled a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the treatment of sleep apnea and snoring in adults and children.
Dr. Stern has participated in the development and clinical trials of new home sleep apnea testing devices. He has published and lectured widely on the subject of sleep apnea and head and neck tumors. He is past director of the Saint Vincent’s Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery program and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary’s Head & Neck Surgery service.
