Evaluation of the Preferential Hyperacuity Perimeter (PHP) Device Study

Objective

To evaluate the fitness and validate the ability of the Notal Vision Macular Computerized Psychophysical Test (MCPT), a Preferential Hyperacuity Perimeter (PHP) Professional device, to detect CNV patients and differentiate them from intermediate AMD patients in a better manner than does the Amsler Grid.

Study Results

One hundred fifty patients participated in the trial. The PHP had greater sensitivity, although with a relatively high rate of false-positive results for healthy individuals, than the Amsler grid in detecting AMD-related lesions.
