To determine if occlusion therapy for 14 days of the affected eye in patients with acute, unilateral optic neuritis will result in improved visual outcomes at 6 months.
- Presence of acute unilateral optic neuritis of unknown or demyelinative origin
- Onset of visual symptoms for < 8 day
- Age between 18 and 46 years
- Presence of a relative afferent pupillary defect and a visual field defect in the affected eye (perimetric mean deviation > -3.0 dB)
