Attention Doctors: New 72 Hour Policy
The Operating Room Committee and Medical Board responded to our reports of disapproved cases and operating room delays.
Based on the recommendations of the Operating Room Committee and approval of the last Medical Board meeting of January 23, 2007, the following policy will be put in place effective March 12, 2007.
All admission documents — i.e., pre- admission/ scheduling form, signed consent, physician’s orders and any outside testing for all elective cases — must be at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary at least 72 hours (3 business days Monday–Friday) prior to your patient’s scheduled admission date.
If your admission documents are not received at least 72 hours (3 business days, Monday-Friday) your case(s) will be cancelled and you will need to reschedule for a later date.
