Profunda Artery Perforator Flap (PAP)

The Profunda Artery Perforator Flap (PAP) is another option for breast reconstruction in patients who are not candidates for the use of the abdomen (DIEP).  The PAP flap uses extra tissue taken from the back of the upper thigh.  Almost everyone has enough extra tissue at this location to recreate a breast, and the resulting scar is nicely hidden in the lower buttock crease.
