Corresponding OCT and histopathology in this enucleated eye.
Brightly colored, highly reflective RPE is visible above the nevus. The RPE appears thickened because of increased diode beam intensity used to permit visualization of the nevus. There is no reflectance from the nevus itself as there is complete absorption of the light beam at its surface. A reflectance pattern outlines the borders of the nevus. The overlying retina appears normal.
