Billing, Insurance and Patient Financial Services

We know that figuring out your health insurance and bills can be confusing. We’re here to provide information that will help you understand your financial responsibility and make the process as easy as possible. Our staff of insurance and billing specialists will help you find answers to your questions.

Confirm Your Insurance Coverage

To familiarize yourself with the terms of your insurance coverage, we suggest you contact your insurance provider prior to your hospital visit and ask about your coverage for the required services. Your insurance provider can advise if you need pre-authorization, what is and is not covered, and what your financial responsibilities will be so you can prepare.

We understand that some insurance companies will not cover a clinic visit, and you may become responsible for all charges.

Understanding Your Hospital Bill

If you have been in the hospital, you will receive a bill listing the charges. Please review it carefully and ask questions if you see something you do not understand.

The amount you owe may include insurance deductibles, non-covered services or items, co-payments, co-insurance or, in appropriate cases, balances due after insurance has paid on a charge. The information on the EOB should match your hospital bill. If it does not, or if there is something you do not understand, call your insurance company. We will provide additional relevant documentation, when appropriate, to help process your claim for the correct benefit.

Additional Bills for Services

The hospital only bills for hospital services. In addition to the hospital bill, you may receive multiple bills from one or more service providers. Each provider (physician, diagnostics, lab, anesthesiologist, radiologist, and pathologist) will be submitting a claim to your insurance carrier for services provided. You are responsible for any part of these charges not covered by your insurance.

Please call the number on the specific bill should you have questions. If you have any questions about your hospital charges, please speak to our Billing Services team at 1-888-408-8340.
