PATIENT REGISTRAR
Responsible for registration of private and emergency patients to all clinics; Process admissions quickly & accurately in a professional manner.  Patient demographic and insurance information data entry into Meditech system.  Obtain medical records for patients previously seen.  Assist patients with forms.  Communicating to other departments to ensure placement of patients.  High School Diploma or Equivalent required (some college coursework preferred).  Computer skills, knowledge of hospital setting also required.  Customer service experience and knowledge of third party payers preferred.  Bilingual a plus.  PER-DIEM POSITIONS

Ambulatory Care

NURSING ASSISTANT
Responsibilities include providing nursing care under supervision of Registered Nurse(s) that is consistent with the Philosophy and goals of the Nursing department and patient care unit. Transport of post-anesthesia patients; Assists in clerical functions and assist in additional assignments as determined by Nurse in charge. May be floated or cross-trained to other patient’s units. OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities include compiling patient history, measuring visual acuity, refractometry, performing visual fields and recording patient history, according to standards established by the Infirmary. Must have background in ophthalmology (JCAHPO and technical certification preferred but not required). Knowledge of medical instrumentation and its proper care and usage needed. PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT
Responsibilities include evaluating and treating adult and pediatric patients in the ENT clinic, under the supervision of an Otolarygologist. Performs admission and preadmission histories and physicals and minor procedures as assigned. Assists in the handling of patient care and personnel emergencies Performs pre-employment physical, evaluates and treats employees who become ill or injured at work. Develops and/or participates in pilot studies, research projects and quality improvement activities. Draws blood, inserts catheters, intravenous lines and heparin locks, injects contrast dyes, approved IV meds, changes surgical dressings prescribes medications and other tests and treatments as part of the evaluation, care and treatment of patients as directed by their supervising physician. Perform other related duties as required by the supervising physician. Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program required. Certification/ Licensure as a registered PA by the New York State Education Department. Must be ACLS certified. Competent in surgical assisting for ENT cases. Bilingual in English/Spanish, English/Mandarin, English/Cantonese or English/Russian. FULL-TIME POSITION / DAYS / 8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. OR 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities include performing Humphrey and Goldmann Visual Fields according to standards established by the Infirmary. Must have a minimum of two (2) years related experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, with a completion of Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Program or accredited education program approved by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology preferred . NETWORK / PC SPECIALIST / SATELLITE PRACTICE SUPPORT
Responsibilities include: providing end-user PC support for the satellite offices including recommending appropriate desktop hardware; installing and configuring all PCs and software; replacing defective hardware; assisting users with their PC-related problems; helping to troubleshoot and resolve network problems; maintaining Meditech servers and Meditech-related hardware; monitoring and maintaining Meditech operating system and communications devices. Bachelors Degree in computer-related discipline or equivalent experience required. Must have knowledge of PCs, PC operating systems, networks, network operating systems, networking protocols and topologies, and servers. Experience working as a PC or Network Support Specialist in a heterogeneous software environment with multiple workstations/nodes in a Windows local area network for at least 2 years is required. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Position entails providing support to the Director, Institute of Continuing Medical Education (ICME). Duties include, but not limited to, grading, CME tests, tabulating course evaluation summaries and exam results, sorting mail, maintaining files, inputting attendance into database, and assisting in organizing conferences. Position requires good typing, spelling, basic math, computer (Microsoft Word/Excel) skills. Plant Operations

MECHANIC
Troubleshoot and repair of buildings and installed systems to include: plumbing and electrical systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, door hardware, light carpentry, grounds equipment and HVAC. Clean, lubricate and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic devices. Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems. Respond immediately to emergency situations. Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions. 5 years related trade experience in a building-related trade preferred / 3 years hospital maintenance experience preferred. A minimum of one year social work experience in a health care setting. LMSW or LCSW required. Experience with overseeing staff and office functions preferred. COORDINATOR
Responsibilities include assisting with interview, orientation and placement of volunteers. Performs office procedures; filing, answering phone calls, writing letters, as well as other departmental correspondence. Assists with the coordination of Blood Drives, Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony, and other event sponsored by the Volunteer Department. Calculates and records monthly and yearly statistics.
