Admitting

CLINICAL MANAGER
Review all pre-admission clinical documentation for inpatient and ambulatory surgery cases to ensure that documentation complies with NYEE rules and regulations. Communicate documentation deficiencies to physician offices; track and monitor these deficiencies for appropriate internal reporting. Review in-house census for patients in-house over 48 hours to ensure appropriate authorizations for continued admission coverage. Responsible for administering Medicare Advanced Beneficiary Notification as needed for patients. Develop a clinical documentation review process and enhance clinical documentation with Medical Records Department input. Review of surgical cases utilizing implants, high cost drugs, or other specialty items to ensure appropriate reimbursement. Handle monthly case audits. NYS RN required, Bachelors Degree in health related field preferred. 3+ years experience in utilization management, 2+ years experience in a supervisory role. Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and written skills required. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and flexibility. NURSING ASSISTANT
Responsibilities include providing nursing care under supervision of Registered Nurse(s) that is consistent with the Philosophy and goals of the Nursing department and patient care unit. Transport of post-anesthesia patients; Assists in clerical functions and assist in additional assignments as determined by Nurse in charge. May be floated or cross-trained to other patient’s units. Must be computer literate. Nursing Assistant Certification, High School Diploma, basic heart support, BCLS or HeartSaver required. Certification of EKG and Phlebotomy required. Ophthalmology Faculty Practice

MEDICAL SECRETARY
Responsibilities include medical transcription, word processing and administrative support for faculty practice physicians. Maintain smooth functioning of physician’s practices. Scheduling appointments for surgery, handling triage phone calls, filing. Must be proficient in WordPerfect, Windows, Excel or similar. Prior experience in health care setting required. OPHTHALMOLOGY ADMINISTRATOR
Major responsibilities include the management of the Ophthalmology Faculty Practice, Residency Training Program, and Clinical Research Center, as well as the development and management of physician satellite offices, ambulatory surgery centers, philanthropic activities, and physician recruitment. Responsible for departmental operations, fiscal management, strategic initiatives, Human Resources operations, liaising with medical school affiliate, and assisting practice managers to facilitate successful practices. Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration preferred. Must have experience managing a large multi-specialty practice, residency program, and clinical research team, and experience in budgeting, P&L, market and financial analysis, physician recruitment and philanthropy. Departmental Administrator experience recommended. Must have demonstrated written and oral communication as well as excellent presentation skills. Must be self-motivated and possess strategic and analytical abilities. Must take initiative to identify and resolve complex issues. Computer literacy experience is also required. FULL-TIME POSITION

Otolaryngology

PHYSICIAN TEAM MEMBER-CHINATOWN
Primarily responsible for handling all phone interactions associated with team physician. Responsibilities include checking patients in/out, exam room preparation, patient services, preparing patient data, preparing charts, and running reports. Will also provide coverage for other staff members. Must have Bachelor’s Degree, Medical Assistant Certificate, OR 3+ years experience in customer care setting with at least 1 year in a busy multi-physician office environment. Otolaryngology and/or Ophthalmology office experience preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment required. Strong multi-tasking skills required. Must have good computer skills, working knowledge of Medical Manager, MS Office and Meditech Software(s) preferred. Excellent verbal, written and communication skills required. ORTHOPTIST
Responsible for supervising patient care with the residents and performing evaluations on private and clinic patients. Determining surgical and non-surgical diagnosis and treatment as well as follow up treatment. Assist in developing a treatment plan with the residents and medical director. Participate in the supervision and running of the allied health program in Orthoptics and Ophthalmic Technology. BA / BS four years, post grad / Orthoptics. Conducting inspection rounds of all areas of the Infirmary where drugs are stored and maintaining accurate records of these inspections according to policy. BS in Pharmacy required. Experience working a hospital required with some additional experience in retail pharmacy. Excellent communication skills. PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
Responsible for assisting the pharmacists in the non-judgmental capacity as defined by NYS and federal law, of filling and delivering inpatient cassettes. Assisting in sterile and non-sterile intravenous and extemporaneous preparations, unit and clinic medication room inspections. Exchanging of the crash cart trays and auxiliary stock and in quality control such as removing medications that are expired or about to expire. Stock Preparation, unit does medication repackaging, replenishing the Pyxis machine in the OR and ER. Must be certified Pharmacy Technician as recognized by the National Pharmacy Certification Board. 1 to 3 years institutional pharmacy practice required. Must possess High School Diploma or Equivalent. Ability to read and write English. Computer literacy required. FULL-TIME POSITION / 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

MECHANIC
Troubleshoot and repair of buildings and installed systems to include: plumbing and electrical systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, door hardware, light carpentry, grounds equipment and HVAC. Clean, lubricate and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic devices. Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems. Respond immediately to emergency situations. Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions. 5 years related trade experience in a building-related trade preferred / 3 years hospital maintenance experience preferred. Strong knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance required. FULL-TIME POSITION

Responsibilities include answering and screening phone calls; scheduling appointments; greeting patients; obtains and processes necessary information regarding appointments and cancellations. Sleep Center

SLEEP CENTER TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities include demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of nonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines. Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues. Performing routine equipment care, maintenance and inventory evluation. Current CPR or BCLS certification. Excellecnt written and spoken communication skills.
