New York, NY (July 2010) -- The Jorge N. Buxton Microsurgical Education Foundation has been established to advance the study of microsurgical techniques among residents and practicing physicians in The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary’s unique practice laboratory, which provides comprehensive hands-on training to prepare surgeons for the complexities of the operating room in the hospital’s core specialties.
Under the directorship of Douglas F. Buxton, MD, the Foundation mission is to keep the Microsurgical Education Center on the leading-edge of microsurgical instruction with initiatives including new equipment purchases and facilities upgrades; endowed professorships; and scholarships and awards.
A President’s Reception will be held on October 7 from 6-8 PM for those interested in advancing NYEE microsurgical education. Contact the Development Office at 212.979.4019 or firstname.lastname@example.org for further details and an invitation.
