NEW YORK, NY (April 2010) -- The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary’s 2010 “Thanks for Giving” Ball will take place on Thursday, November 4 from 6 PM to 9:30 PM at “583 Park,” an elegant banquet space on Park Avenue and 63rd Street in Manhattan. The Gala marks the 190th anniversary of NYEE’s founding and will be highlighted by a full hour concert by international trumpet star and composer Chris Botti.
In the tradition of honoring service to humanity as well as the hospital, this year’s event presents The Margaret Loeb Kempner Humanitarian Award to Robert Della Rocca, MD, and the volunteer members of the New York Eye and Ear Medical Mission to The Dominican Republic and Haiti.
Hector R. Giancarlo, MD, New York Eye and Ear’s former Chairman of Otolaryngology, will receive The John Kearney Rodgers Physician of the Year Award, and Peter Frelinghuysen will be given a special tribute in recognition of his years of distinguished service as Chairman of our Board.
