New York, NY (August 2009) -- The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary will hold a reception hosted by President & CEO D. McWilliams Kessler on October 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the University Club to inaugurate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the creation of the Infirmary’s New York Center for the Advancement of Breast Reconstruction.
Breast cancer surgeon Allan Stolier, MD, and plastic surgeons Robert J. Allen, MD and Joshua L. Levine, MD, will discuss their latest reconstructive techniques which use the patients’ own tissue for natural breasts after mastectomy.
The event is co-sponsored by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, LLC, and Judith Ripka Jewelry, the latter of which will offer an exclusive onsite preview and sale from a new collection to benefit the new center and help make surgery options available to all women regardless of economic status. Admission is free but advance RSVP is required. For further information about this event, please contact NYEEI Development Office: 212-979-4019.
