


Robert Della Rocca, MD, and Frank Cracolici, president and CEO of St. Luke’s/Roosevelt
NEW YORK, NY (November 2009) -- Robert C. Della Rocca, MD, chief of ophthalmic plastic & reconstructive surgery at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and director of the NYEEI Dept. of Ophthalmology at St. Luke’s/ Roosevelt Hospital Center, was honored with the 2009 Wholeness of Life Award from the HealthCare Chaplaincy. It is presented annually to a health care provider who demonstrates respect and commitment to others throughout professional practice as well as humanitarian efforts.
The award was presented in a special ceremony on November 9 in the St. Luke’s Chapel by SLR president & CEO Frank Cracolici and HealthCare Chaplaincy trustee Marcella Rosen.

Dr. Della Rocca is a founder of the Volunteer Health Program, which organizes medical missions to perform eye surgery in underdeveloped parts of the world.
