New York, NY (January 2007) -- Richard B. Rosen, MD, most recently director of the eye resident education program, has been named Vice-Chair and Director of Departmental Research in the Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Rosen is a graduate of The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary’s Class of 1989, and was a Vitreal-Retinal Fellow from 1989-91. He has served as resident education director since July 1, 1992, and performed admirably in this position.
Paul A. Sidoti, MD, has assumed the position of Director of Ophthalmology Resident Education. He will also remain director of the hospital’s Comprehensive Eye Clinic. Dr. Sidoti is a graduate of the Class of 1992, and completed a Fellowship in Glaucoma at USC-Doheny. Dr. Sidoti has served as Assistant Program Director for the past 10 years.
According to department chairman Joseph B. Walsh, MD, "I am sure Dr. Rosen and Dr. Sidoti will continue their excellence in leadership both within the Department and The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and direct The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary Residency to even higher levels."
