New York, NY (July 2006) -- Steven Schaefer, MD, FACS, Professor and Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and his associates recently published the lead article in the premier otolaryngology journal, Laryngoscope. The article contains results from their endoscopic sinus surgery experiences with several thousand patients over the past 20 years, finding that the techniques they used produced the lowest overall complication rates ever reported.
The article is the latest in a body of work about sinus surgery compiled by Dr. Schaefer over the past 25 years, including the first book published on the subject and five related books on minimally invasive head and neck surgery.
