Navin C. Mehta, MDNYEEI Physician Receives Ellis Island Medal of Honor

New York, NY (May 2006) -- Navin C. Mehta, MD, surgeon director in the Department of Otolaryngology/ Head & Neck Surgery of The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, was a recipient of one of the Ellis Island Medals of Honor for 2006 on May 13 in a gala hosted by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations.

These medals are awarded annually to American citizens from all walks of life and ancestry who have distinguished themselves through significant contributions to the United States. Past medalists include six U.S Presidents, Nobel Prize winners and leaders of industry, education, arts and government as well as medicine.
