Sybase Classic logoLPGA Event Brings The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary Funds and Friends

New York, NY (June 2005) -- As it has for the past four years, the LPGA Sybase Classic presented by Lincoln Mercury at the Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, NY, introduces The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary to new friends in neighboring Westchester communities and helps bring it national exposure through televised coverage on ESPN and numerous references in newspaper sports sections.

Known for its generosity, the tournament donates a portion of its proceeds to local charities. The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, as the Official Hospital, is one such recipient. We are also pleased to assist in staffing the medical/EMT tent and providing interested employees who volunteer to participate on and off the course.

Paula Creamer and Joseph Corcoran, president and CEO of The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, at the ceremony on the 18th green. The winner's check was delivered by "air mail" courtesy of a parachuting cadet from the United States Military Academy at nearby West Point.

At the medical tent, staff from New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and neighboring Sound Shore hospital distributed material on eye safety and timely topics such as allergies and swimmers ear. The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary's take-home eye test was popular.
