New York, NY (Spring 2005) -- Robin A. Dyleski, MD, has been appointed Director of Pediatric Otolaryngology at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. She was an attending surgeon at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock for the past five years, where she led the hospital’s Cleft Palate Team.
"Dr. Dyleski’s appointment underscores The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary’s commitment to provide the best quality of advanced care in pediatric otolaryngology in the region, not only to children with cleft lip and palate, but to those who suffer from a variety of complex hearing and breathing difficulties," said Steven Schaefer, MD, professor and chairman of Otolaryngology at NYEE.
Dr. Dyleski’s research and medical expertise extends to pediatric airway management (breathing problems), congenital vascular lesions (conditions such as hemangiomas which can impact breathing and the airways), Down’s syndrome and other syndromes that affect breathing and hearing, as well as general otolarygological services such as ear tubes and tonsillectomies.
She is a graduate of the University of California School of Medicine, Los Angeles, and was a surgical resident at Loyola University Medical Center, resident in Otolaryngology at USC, and fellow in pediatric otolaryngology/cleft palate at Arkansas Children's Hospital. She is published in professional journals and textbooks and is active in educational and humanitarian efforts in third world countries and with the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.
