York, NY (March 2004) -- The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary has been designated an official charity of the Ladies Professional Golf Association’s Sybase Classic Golf Tournament, which is presented by Lincoln Mercury.
The prestigious tournament, which will take place at the Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, New York, May 17th – May 23,rd 2004, will be aired on ESPN May 20th – May 23rd and has a purse of $1.25 million. The quality and reputation of the Sybase Classic brings out competitive stars like
Annika Sorenstam, Karrie Webb, Laura Diaz and defending champion
Hee-Won Han.
As an official charity, the Eye and Ear Infirmary will receive proceeds from advance Pro-Am and spectator ticket sales. The hospital hopes to raise $100,000 for children’s services this year.
In addition to sponsoring emergency medical services at the tournament, The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary will be offering free vision and hearing screenings, as well as blood pressure measurements and readings for players, staff, volunteers and spectators.
