About the Center

The Art Gallery at The Shelley and Steven Einhorn Clinical Research CenterThe generosity of Shelley and Steven Einhorn acknowledges The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai as a leader in ophthalmology research. It also acknowledges the remarkable career of world-renowned glaucoma specialist Dr. Robert Ritch, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary’s Professor and Chief of Glaucoma Services, Surgeon Director and Director of International Training, and Recipient of The 2007 American Academy of Ophthalmology Life Achievement Honor Award. As a world leader in glaucoma, a progressive disease which can strike without warning and cause irreversible eye damage, Dr. Ritch has devoted his career to broadening our understanding of the nature of this dreaded disease, and he has brought to the field key innovations in diagnosis and treatment.

Shelley Einhorn, Dr. Ritch and D. McWilliams KesslerThe establishment of The Shelley and Steven Einhorn Clinical Research Center enables Dr. Ritch, his colleague Dr. Jeffrey Liebmann, and our research ophthalmologists to enhance their scientific investigations, which include a full agenda directed by Department of Ophthalmology Chairman, Dr. Joseph Walsh, and Vice Chairman, Dr. Richard Rosen.

We extend appreciation to Shelley and Steven Einhorn and their family for their support of this critical work.
