Roberta Rosenthal creates contemporary botanical and nature images in watercolor and oils. She has exhibited her work in galleries as well as had it published in a great number of horticultural magazines, books and even postage stamps. She has been featured in books, including Artist Market and the Business of Illustration. Rosenthal received two diplomas from the School of Art and Design in New York, a degree in Textile Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She attended the Art Students League, Koho School of Sumi-e, New York Botanical Garden Botanical Art Program and studied Chinese brush painting privately with master Guo Liang Jui. Rosenthal is a member of various illustration alliances such as the Society of Illustrators, American Society of Botanical Artists, Guild of Natural Science Illustrators and others. She has received many awards and grants including a Bronx Council on the Arts Grant, a Mona Lisa award, and a Bethlehem Art Gallery Award. Her paintings are included in many private and public collections. She is an art instructor at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY and at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx.
