Anthony Sclafani, MD, supervises the Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Service at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE). Clinical staffing in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is provided by subspecialty trained full-time physicians (Alexander Ovchinsky, MD, Marc Zimbler, MD, and Grigoriy Mashkevich, MD). They staff all resident clinics, service operative cases, and deliver the facial plastic lecture series. The service is composed of five board certified, fellowship trained facial plastic surgeons double-boarded in otolaryngology and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Facial cosmetic and reconstructive procedures are performed by the residents at NYEE clinics and operating rooms. Clinical activities are complemented by a lecture series of weekly didactic and slide presentations that cover basic topics of wound healing and management, scar revision, rhinoplasty, face lifts, blepharoplasty, facial trauma, and adjunctive procedures.
The Otolaryngology Resident Training Program’s other resident clinical services include:
- General Otolaryngology
- General Otology, Neurotology, Skull Base Surgery, Otology Institute
- Head and Neck Surgery
- Pediatric Otolaryngology
