Practice and Professional Interests

Dr. Anna Gabrielian, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at New York Medical College at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, specializes in the diseases and surgery of retina, macula, and vitreous. Dr. Gabrielian dedicates her time to clinical care of retinal vascular diseases, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, central serous chorioretinopathy, and other disorders of the retina, macula, and vitreous.

Dr. Gabrielian performs the full range of in-office retinal procedures, including laser treatments, intraocular injections, and pneumatic retinopexy, as well as all hospital-based vitreo-retinal surgical procedures, including micro-incisional sutureless vitrectomy, scleral buckling, vitreous biopsies, and sutured intraocular lenses.  Dr. Gabrielian utilizes diagnostic retinal imaging, available at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary's excellent Advanced Retinal Imaging Center, for the diagnoses of complex retinal diseases. 

An active participant in clinical research activities, Dr. Gabrielian is the author of numerous papers, scientific posters, and book chapters, and serves as a reviewer for Ophthalmology, Retina, and Retinal Cases & Brief Reports. Dr. Gabrielian is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology, and the New York State Ophthalmologic Society. She greatly enjoys teaching residents and fellows, both in clinic and operating room.
