Standardization Of Glaucoma Testing In LASIK Patients

Principal Investigator:  Barrie Soloway, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Enrollment Status:  Ongoing

Overview:  Numerous testing modalities are currently used in glaucoma patients. Many of these tests are imaging studies of the nerve, nerve fiber layer and retina. Because the cornea is reshaped in LASIK, there is the possibility that these tests will need to be re-calibrated after LASIK. The purpose of this study is to calculate the standard testing parameters in normal patients prior to undergoing LASIK and re-calibrate these tests at intervals after the surgery.

Eligibility:  Be willing to undergo a number of measurements with and without dilation before LASIK, and at two intervals after their surgery, be at least 20 years of age or older, have best correctable vision of at least 20/25 in each eye, have had no prior surgery to their eyes, have good general health, have no prior history of glaucoma.
