Indirect ophthalmoscopy, along with scleral depression
and fundus drawing, are among the most challenging of skills for the clinician
to master. We have developed a comprehensive multimode interactive CD-ROM
which illustrates and animates various aspects of these techniques. Using
a mouse-driven graphic interface, the user can explore the various problems
encountered in learning these skills, and acquire the solutions and explanations
to common questions. In addition, a simulation module allows the user to
examine and draw test fundi, which can then be checked for accuracy, and
submitted for CME credit.
An accredited CME course on CD-ROM, planned and produced
in accordance with ACCME Essentials.
Intended for any ophthalmologist, optometrist, or allied
health professional who has a need to learn indirect ophthalmoscopy and
fundus drawing.
An extremely useful method of examining the entire retina,
requiring time for teaching that is often not available in the usual training
environment.
This CD-ROM provides all the required background information
and methodology to acquire the necessary skills.
At the conclusion, participants will be prepared to examine
a patient's fundus, and create a fundus drawing.
