Wide-Field
Digital Fundus Photography
The RetCam II is a high resolution, wide-field contact digital fundus camera performed with the patient lying down face up. Utilizing a selection of lenses enabling photography of 80 to 120 degrees of field, the RetCam is capable of documenting lesions at the posterior pole, the optic nerve, and peripheral retina digitally. Since the camera scope touches the cornea, anesthetic drops are required. Examination under anesthesia is ideal in the pediatric age group. Serial photographic documentation of retinal findings is of great value in both retinal disease and tumor management. The RetCam is also used for intraoperative fluorescein studies in adults and children.
